Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter has had a fever since afternoon. Two doses of Paracetamol were given. She has a headache, and she is shivering. Do we need to give any other medicine?

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing, and I understand your concern.

If fever is high, give tablet Paracetamol 650 mg twice a day after the meal and if fever is not high, then give tablet Paracetamol 500 mg three times a day.

If you gave Paracetamol four hours ago, you could give one more now.

Can you please tell me:

1. Is she having any other symptoms apart from fever and headache?

2. Is she having a cough or sore throat?

3. Is she having a high fever?

Please let me know.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

The last Paracetamol was given at 6 pm.

No other symptoms otherwise.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can give Paracetamol every six hours.

If fever is high and she develops any other symptoms, start antibiotics. Otherwise, there is no need.

So let me know accordingly.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
