Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I suffer from fever, headache, diarrhea, leg pain, and bad breath. Kindly help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I saw your blood report (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Better assessment can be done if you can tell the details of the present complaints.

1. Since how many days have you had the above-mentioned complaints?

2. Is the fever mild?

3. How many times of loose stools do you have daily?

4. Did you have any medications for the recent complaints?

According to your answers, I will suggest various blood parameters tests and medications.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had a mild fever and diarrhea for the past month intermittently. I took medications for fever and diarrhea.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I saw your lab test report (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).

1. Normal differential leucocyte count and absolute leucocyte count shows no infection; otherwise, counts would have been elevated in infection.

2. Low hemoglobin (Hb) level in mean corpuscular volume (MCV) probably indicates iron deficiency anemia, and also, in the iron profile study, the iron level value is on the lower limit.

3. The normal erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) shows no inflammation or infection.

4. Normal blood glucose and HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin level) mean no pre-diabetes or diabetes mellitus.

5. Lipid profile is normal.

6. Liver function test is normal.

7. Renal function test is normal.

8. Normal urine routine and microscopic examination reflecting no sign of lower urinary tract infection.

9. Thyroid function test is normal.

10. Vitamin D level is low.

I suggest that there is no sign of infection in the blood report, and your overall report is normal.

I also suggest the following:

1. Take iron rich diet, milk, and milk-related products.

2. Repeat completed blood count (CBC) or Hb level after two weeks.

3. Take tab Paracetamol 500 mg once or twice daily for mild fever.

4. Do cold water sponging in case of mild fever.

5. Since there is associated diarrhea, I suggest you get a typhoid test.

6. For diarrhea, take a probiotic sachet (one sachet a day for three days) and an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to deplete the electrolytes.

7. Avoid outside food, cold food, or water.

8. Take easily digestible fresh food.

9. Do not take any antibiotics and get the typhoid test done.

Thanks.
