Why is there pain in hands and feet with fever?
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My 4-year-old son had a cough for two days. Now his cough is fine but now he has a high fever on the head side and his hands are ice cold. He is saying pain sometimes in his hands and sometimes in his feet. What is the cause? Please explain.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
From the description, it seems your son is having an upper respiratory infection. If he is playful and active in between fever it may be a simple infection which will subside by its own. You can give Paracetamol during the fever spikes. If his fever is lasting for more than three days, then you have to do a blood test including complete blood counts and may go for antibiotics after consulting a doctor in person. Pain can be part of the infection.
Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
