Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a discolored enamel. My doctor suggested that it could be due to fluorosis. My teeth have been brittle since childhood and would frequently chip off. Also, I had cavities for which I got root canal treatment done for four teeth. The yellowish discoloration of my teeth is bothering me. Is there a treatment option other than veneers?

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Many treatment options mask the white spots and help achieve a beautiful smile. A veneer is a permanent solution with a life of 10 to 15 years. However, the other treatment options include tooth whitening or composite fillings.

I hope this helps.

The Probable causes

The probable causes are fluorosis, dentinal caries, or poor oral hygiene.

Investigations to be done

I suggest a dental X-ray.

Differential diagnosis

The differential diagnosis is dental caries.

Probable diagnosis

The probable diagnosis is fluorosis.

Treatment plan

I suggest veneer crowns, tooth whitening, or composite filling.

Regarding follow up

I suggest a follow-up after three days.
