Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 26-year-old male with a height of 5 feet 7 inches and a weight of 132 pounds. Three years back, I was addicted to masturbation and used to masturbate five times a day. After that, I decreased my masturbating habit for the past year. I am doing it thrice a week now. My problem is very rarely I am in the urge to urinate after masturbation. That feeling will be for half an hour, and the second problem is I am getting shooting pain while urinating from my anus, and this is also very rare. And my sperm count is also reduced. Is my prostate fine? I am getting married this year. Please help me out. Am I fine?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

The neurological connection of the bladder and perianal area is similar, with root values of S 1, 2, and 3. It is a bladder spasm that you feel as pain. If urine flow is adequate, I do not think that there is anything to worry about. Post-ejaculation semen fills the prostatic urethra giving you the urge to urinate, which is usually difficult or slow for some time. This is normal and physiologic in some. If there is an excessive problem because of the above two symptoms, I suggest you can take a tablet of Tolterodine 2 mg (up to 4 mg) once a day. At your age majority of sexual functions are absolutely normal, but initial anxiety in youth can be relieved by better sex education or counseling. Good communication is the root of a happy married life. Do not try to perform good sex, be natural, as what is shown in pornography videos is far from reality. As a preventive measure, read articles about approaches to improve your sexual life.

Follow-up after 15 days.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
