I am 37. Should I try Leuprolide for FET?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am undergoing an IVF FET cycle. My eggs were retrieved in cycle three months back and this cycle the doctor has planned an embryo transfer. I am on 5 Progynova tablets three times a day plus Estrogel in the evening.

I also had a GSCF. Is this high dose okay? My lining is 7.7 mm and the doctor has advised embryo transfer on day 55. Is doing an embryo transfer on day 55 okay?

I would be very grateful if you could advise me on this. I am 37 years old and had two failed embryo transfers a year ago.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Progynova or Estradiol valerate of up to 8 mg per day is fine. Dose is high, but may be needed to improve endometrium to a minimum of 7 mm. Any thickness of 7 to 14 mm is normal. I could not get what day 55 is. We can transfer in just normal periods or after down regulating with Leuprolide daily injections. So if you have had natural cycle transfer previously, maybe this time try Leuprolide this time. It will suppress all disturbances from your body hormones.

Maybe another option are:

  1. Add Ecosprin, Nitric oxide donor or Sildenafil or,
  2. Most physiological method is to use HMG (Menotropin) injections.

Endometrium will improve very well. Hope infections have been treated and blood sugar and thyroid, prolactin levels are normal.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
