Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and concern. It seems like you have tinea cruris. Tinea cruris is a fungal infection of the groin. I suggest you follow certain general measures:

• Do not keep the area wet at all. Use Clotrimazole (Zinc-oxide) powder frequently to keep it dry.

• Avoid itching and do not scratch it. Change the undergarments regularly. Avoid excessive sweating and wet clothes.

• Do not apply any general or steroid creams like Betnovate (Betamethasone valerate), Surfaz ointment (Clotrimazole and Neomycin-1% W/W) Betamethasone (Cetomacrogol and Cetostearyl alcohol - 0.05% W/W), Tolnaftate (1% W/W) Neomycin (0.5% W/W))

• Do not stop the medicine once you are cured. Continue medicine for a long time to completely kill the fungus.

• Check diabetes and thyroid. It is really recurrent even after proper treatment.

• It can be transferred. However, it is not a dread disease (life-threatening) and almost has nil complications. It can be easily prevented by the above-mentioned measures.

• Look, fungus always needs humidity and a wet area to penetrate. So, just do not give it a chance by keeping it dry.

Apply 2% Ketoconazole (KZ) cream (Propylene glycol and Cetyl alcohol) twice daily along with tablet Terbinafine (Magnesium stearate and Hypromellose) 250 mg for three weeks. I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
