Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

From the symptoms mentioned, you could have been suffering from tinea cruris, a fungal infection of the groin. It is not a dreadly disease (life-threatening) but, it can be transferred and almost has no complications. It can be prevented. I advise you follow the below mentioned instructions.

  1. Use Clotrimazole powder frequently to keep it dry. Avoid keeping the area wet.
  2. Avoid itching, and do not scratch it.
  3. Change the undergarments regularly.
  4. Avoid excessive sweating and wet clothes.
  5. Do not apply any general or steroid cream like Surfaz ointment (Clotrimazole)
  6. Check for diabetes and thyroid even after proper treatment.
  7. Fungal infection may not respond to tablets Terbinafine (Terbinafine) or fluconazole (fluconazole) due to development of resistance.
  8. Take a tablet of Itraconazole (Itraconazole) 200 mg twice a day.
  9. Apply KZ (ketoconazole) cream twice a day for one month.
  10. Do not stop the medication once it has been cured. Continue them, to completely kill the infection.
  11. Kindly consult a specialist and take the medication with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
