Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

One week back, I woke up with severe diarrhea. It has been very bad in the last 48 hours. My stomach hurts, and I am feeling very uncomfortable. I have a feeling of pooping, but I am unable to. Last two times, I felt comfortable for a short time, the last two times I visited the toilet.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and will surely help you out.

You seem to have gastroenteritis due to food poisoning. It is a self-limiting condition that will subside within a few days. Do you have any blood in your stools, skin rash, or vomiting?

I suggest the below treatment plan:

  • Drink hot beverages and plenty of fluids.
  • Tablet Loperamide 4 mg after each bowel movement and do not exceed three tablets per day.
  • Tablet Buscopan (Hyoscine Butylbromide) for colicky pain.
  • Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and start the medicines with their consent.

Kindly follow up after a week.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
