Patient's Query

Hello,

I am a 57-year-old female with gum boils on my lower teeth. I had the same issue about a year ago and underwent tooth cleaning six months ago. I do not take any medications. Due to back issues, I am unable to visit the clinic. Kindly suggest some medication.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I would like to add that there are no cavities near the boils. I had my false tooth about six years back and since then I have undergone one cleaning every year. Recently, I have been getting these gum boils. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

At your age, it is not good to have these ulcerations or boils frequently. Not all boils are serious but if they are recurring frequently, then you will need to take antioxidants regularly. I am a nutritionist as well, so I feel that at this age, you should be at your precautionary best to avoid serious oral lesions. Only oral surgeons can prescribe antioxidants specifically for the mouth. Do you have blood pressure, sugar, thyroid, or any other medical issues? Are you on any medications? Dentogel (Choline salicylate and Lidocaine) will help, but it is crucial to know the need to prevent the risk of recurring boils as these can turn serious in the long run. I will suggest both antibiotics and antioxidants here for you that will help you resolve this gum issue once and for all.

I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you take the following-

1. Capsule Augmentin (Amoxicillin plus Potassium clavulanate) 625 mg after food- after breakfast and after dinner for three days.

2. Tablet SM fibro (Lycopene, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Alpha lipoic acid, Vitamin E, and Betacarotene) 1-0-0 (once daily after breakfast ) for 15 days every month.

Capsule Augmentin (Amoxicillin plus Potassium clavulanate) is the antibiotic recommended for three days whenever boil recurs and the antioxidant tablet SM fibro (Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Beta carotene, Alpha lipoic acid, Vitamin E, and Lycopene) can be taken for 15 days every month to boost your oral and general immunity. Its action is similar to that of a multivitamin, and it is absolutely safe.

I hope I cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
