Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 18 years old. I am experiencing pain at the back of my right lower gum. I guess it is due to a growing wisdom tooth. I already have a grown wisdom tooth on the left side, which is healthy and I never felt the need to get it removed. I also find it hard to chew, my jaw hurts upon touching. There is no swelling so far but it is hard to open the mouth. Do I need to get the tooth removed or shall I just rinse and gargle with lukewarm water?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
As you have mentioned, you are experiencing pain at the back of your right lower gum, and think it may be due to growing wisdom teeth. I advise that you wait for the tooth to erupt. Usually, wisdom teeth start to erupt at the age of 17 to 25 years. It may take a while for the tooth to fully erupt into the oral cavity.
For the pain, you can rinse your mouth with lukewarm saltwater three to four times a day. If the pain is too much to handle, then you can Cipzox (Diclofenac 50 mg), one tablet after food.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
