Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am really concerned about my hair loss. I am a working man and I am 35 years old. Is it normal to have sudden hair fall at this age? Whenever I comb my hair or wash my hair, my hair falls. It suddenly started in the last six months.

The hair fall keeps increasing. Should I start using any hair care products for this? What would be the cause for this sudden hair fall?

This is creating stress and the hair fall is so obvious that everyone started asking me about this.

Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

There are many reasons for hair fall or thinning of hair on the scalp. So first and foremost we have to find the cause with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes are nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia or patterned baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium, etc. Unless we find and treat the cause there is no point in giving non-specific treatment. Oils or shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed into the skin.

Please send photographs for a proper diagnosis and a detailed prescription.

Thank you.
