Patient's Query

Hello doctor.

I am a 30-year-old woman who has seen receding hair and expanding part lines. Is it conceivable that I have pattern hair loss, and if so, are there any therapies or lifestyle modifications that might help me address this problem?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Hair loss along with a widening pattern of hairline is a sign of female-pattern hair loss. They can occur for multiple reasons, including genetic susceptibility, hormonal fluctuations that cause the roots of the hair follicles to become weaker and fall off, and any vitamin and mineral deficiencies like vitamin D3, vitamin B12, iron deficiency, and so on. They can also occur due to stress, sleeplessness, and any history of infections like COVID infections, chickenpox, minor or major surgeries, dengue, and so on. Apart from that, the presence of dandruff can also contribute to hair fall. The idea is to constantly stimulate the hair cycle by stimulating the scalp using different methods of medication, procedures, and processes done at home.

I suggest the following advice:

  1. PRP injections for the scalp: This is a therapy that is often performed in hair clinics. Approximately 10 to 12 ml of your blood would be collected and spun in a machine during this procedure. This machine will collect platelets, which are growth factors, and a portion of your blood will be extracted and injected into your scalp with an insulin syringe. This is typically performed once a month for six months. They produce excellent outcomes in terms of promoting and encouraging development.

  2. Use of anti-hair fall shampoo: Use this shampoo once a week to cleanse the scalp.

  3. Using anti-hair fall serum: Apply 1 ml of the serum to a clean, dry scalp in the morning and massage into the scalp. Ensure to leave it alone till the following wash in the evening. Make a commitment to utilize it for at least a year.

  4. Minoxidil 2 % lotion: This lotion with minoxidil can be applied to the scalp at night. Massage a 1 ml amount onto a clean, dry scalp. Allow it to sit overnight and then wash it off in the morning. Use it on the afflicted region every day for two years. After two years, progressively lessen the frequency. After two years, for example, make it six days per week for the following six months, then five days per week for the next six months, and so on until they gradually decline and end. Do not stop at an abrupt stoppage.

  5. Tablet Perfectil (biotin supplement): Consume this multivitamin daily after dinner for three months.

  6. Protein powder: For three months, mix one spoonful of powder into one glass of skimmed milk or water and drink it after breakfast.

  7. Blood testing is essential. I advise you to test your vitamin D3, vitamin B12, ferritin, and thyroid profile.

  8. An oil massage using three parts coconut oil, two parts castor oil, and one part vitamin E capsule oil is recommended once a week. Massage for 5 minutes, leave for 1 hour, and then rinse with shampoo.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
