Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

About 1.5 years ago, I contracted COVID-19, and since then, I have encountered various health issues, including hair thinning and loss. Genetics do not appear to be the cause, as my parents have healthy hair. I suspect there may be an underlying nutritional or health issue that needs addressing. Approximately 4-5 months ago, I briefly used the Traya program for a month, but currently, I am mainly consuming protein shakes as I have started working out at home to manage my stress. My hair was not exceptionally thick to begin with, but I have noticed a noticeable reduction in density, with visible gaps between my hair strands. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest that you undergo the following tests to assess your condition thoroughly:

  1. Hemoglobin (Hb)
  2. Complete blood count (CBC)
  3. Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH)
  4. Fasting blood glucose
  5. Serum albumin
  6. Serum creatinine
  7. Routine urine examination

Kindly provide the test results once you have them.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for replying.

I have completed the tests you recommended, and I have observed that my eosinophil levels are elevated. I have a significant dust allergy, and I occasionally take Cetirizine when I feel the need. What could be the reason for my elevated eosinophil counts?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. J. N. Naidu

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The increase in eosinophils seems to be related to your dust allergy, as you've mentioned. Here are some suggestions you can consider:

  1. Incorporate a boiled egg into your daily diet.
  2. Increase your consumption of boiled vegetables and fruits.
  3. Engage in 45 minutes of daily activities such as brisk walking and yoga.
  4. Ensure you get adequate sleep, aiming for 7 hours each night.
  5. Take Becelac Forte (Folic Acid, Cyanocobalamin, Lactic acid bacillus, Niacinamide, and Biotin), one capsule daily after dinner, for a 30-day period.
  6. Avoid chemical-based shampoos and opt for organic alternatives.
  7. Use lukewarm water, not hot water, for your hair wash.
  8. Apply pure, warm coconut oil to your hair on a daily basis.

These measures should help manage your eosinophil levels and health.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your detailed response.

Is it good to apply warm coconut oil daily? I have dandruff issues as well.

Answered by Dr. J. N. Naidu

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

When applying coconut oil, use warm, not hot, oil. Additionally, consider using an organic shampoo for the best results.

Thank you.
