Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been having headaches, dizziness, cold, feeling hungry at times, bitter taste, palpitations, and feeling sleepy. What would be the possible cause? Which tests should I undergo? Or which medicines or diet should I take? My age is 22 years. Currently, I am taking Magnesium sulfate suspension.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
You are having a common cold problem and it can be a viral upper respiratory tract infection. But still, streptococcus infection can be ruled out by ASO (antistreptolysin O) titer, CBC investigation. Levocetirizine 5 mg OD for five days can be prescribed. Salt water gargle done with warm water three times a day. Take one teaspoon turmeric powder with milk daily. Diluted Betadine gargle also can be done. Avoid excess spicy foods.
If no improvement then throat swab can be taken for culture and antibiotic can be taken. May I know how much fever is present? If not known measure it by a thermometer. Your auscultation also should be done.
Take care.
