Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I just got married. Right after two days, my wife experienced a sharp pain in her right head to the neck. It felt like someone was hammering the head. Then after 20 to 25 minutes, she slept, and it stopped. Then again, after five to six days, it came up in the same frequency and same pattern, just the right side of the head to the neck (right side), and then again, after three days, it came back. Can you please suggest something?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com. I read your query and understand your concern. 1. It is most likely a migraine if she has no other deficits like hand or leg weakness, giddiness, or cognitive deficits. It is just recent in onset. So, we can wait with medicines. Tablet Topiramate 25 mg at bedtime for 21 days. Tablet Sibelium 5 milligrams at bedtime for 21 days. Initially, she may get more sleep, but with lightheadedness for three to four days, her symptoms will gradually improve.
Patient's Query
Thanks doctor, for your reply,
Also, she has no nausea or vomiting sensation, as that is common in migraines, right? Or is it fine if she does not have any of these and still has migraines?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com. I read your query and understand your concern. Yes, migraine does not come with all classic symptoms always. It is very much possible to have a migraine without nausea and vomiting. Thank you for consulting me.
