Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My uncle went to the hospital with breathing trouble before five days and they said he has a heart problem and there is more block and want to do open heart surgery. Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through an angiography report (attachment removed to protect patient identity). There are multiple blockages including a blockage in a left main coronary artery (LMCA), for which bypass is the best option. So, angioplasty is not possible and should undergo bypass. Also, other medical treatments according to the echo report must be continued. Even after bypass, he should regularly be on medicines and sugar, BP should be adequately controlled. Otherwise, there is a risk of development of new blockages. So, I overall needs an early bypass and regular medical therapy.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Does he need to get it done early or can we wait for some days?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Usually, most of the patients do well on medicines and surgery after a few days is fine, but we cannot predict the future course. So, we advise getting it as soon as possible. So, you may wait for a few days but better to expedite the things.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
