Patient's Query

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I faced height problems for four to five years from class 7. Suddenly, in class 8, I experienced a significant growth spurt. However, I have stopped growing in height, and currently, at the age of 18, there has been no further increase. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. It is not uncommon for individuals to experience a growth spurt during puberty, typically between the ages of 10 and 14 for girls, and 12 and 16 for boys. However, growth patterns can vary among individuals, and it is important to consider various factors such as genetics, nutrition, and overall health.

Understandably, you have concerns about your height. However, it is important to note that height is influenced by a variety of factors. Once an individual reaches a certain age, typically around the end of puberty, the growth plates in the long bones of the body close, and further height growth is unlikely. At the age of 18, it is unlikely that there are any interventions or treatments that can significantly increase your height. The growth plates in the long bones have most likely already closed. Remember, it is important to focus on overall health rather than solely on height. Leading a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and getting enough sleep, can contribute to your overall well-being and help you reach your optimal potential.

I hope this this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.
