Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a growth near my anus, I think it grew bigger so I checked it the other night. I see there is a tiny lesion that might be caused by the use of toilet paper but not sure. The growth has the same color all around but it is a bit lighter where the lesion is. Lately, I have been placing a Kleenex to keep it dry and help the healing process but it looks the same, no improvement but it does not get worse either. The other day I pressed it and a clear liquid came out of the tiny hole, not much though, it looked like sweat. What could it be? I suffered from hemorroids and IBS so I figured the growth was caused by either but not sure anymore. I will send you some pictures. I took them right after a shower so the growth turned bright pink.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The images suggest you have external hemorrhoids (attachment removed to protect patient identity). This has blood clot inside and that is causing it to be enlarged. These usually settle with time. You need to keep the area dry. Avoid constipation by dietary measures to prevent progression of hemorrhoids. Keep a close watch for any new signs in the area.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your answer. What about that lesion where there is a tiny hole? When I touch it, it feels a bit harder than the rest and it does not seem to heal.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Looks as the area has some scarring post ulceration. Need to closely follow up for the next three weeks. Watch for any increase in size or fresh changes. Do not try to squeeze or traumatize it. Avoid excess straining at stools. Keep yourself well hydrated and reduce constipating foods.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
