Hello doctor,
I have these big pimples in my chest area, they come and go here and there. They started off small about two years ago. They cause little or no pain when developing. My brother has a condition called hidradenitis suppurativa and I am afraid I might have it too, is this it or is it something different because he started off like this in the same area about the same age just his were much bigger growths and developed in his groin as well and are now in his armpit. If it is, what can I do to stop it from spreading to other parts of my body or keep it at this early stage? Please suggest.

I have read your query and understand your concern. These pimples seem to be a little bigger than usual and are located in the folds. It is tough to call them early lesions of Hidradenitis suppurativa at this stage. Hidradenitis suppurativa is a condition characterized by excessive blocking of the body pores, especially in the body folds, leading to painful swellings and interconnecting sinuses. However, there is no need to panic as you have lesions limited to your chest. You could try a course of Doxycycline (Doxycycline Monohydrate) for a couple of weeks along with topical Clindamycin gel (Polyethylene glycol and Sodium Hydroxide). Kindly mention if you find any blackheads in your axilla and groin folds and if you have a very oily skin type. I hope you find this helpful.
