Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I recently had a complete blood test, and the report showed an hs-CRP level of 3.8 mg/L. I am 36 years old and weigh 227 pounds. Please advise on how I can lower this level and whether I am in the danger zone.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand you are worried about your health, but there is no need for excessive concern.
Your CRP (C-reactive protein) level is slightly elevated, but it is not a specific biomarker for cardiovascular diseases. Other factors, such as arthritis or infections, can cause an increase. Your BMI (body mass index) of 38 indicates that you are classified as extremely obese, which puts you at risk for cardiovascular diseases. You should start exercising for at least three days a week, eat healthy meals, and reduce your salt intake. It is advisable to consult a dietitian for a personalized diet plan. First, please take your blood pressure reading and let me know the results.
Take care.
