Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have eye pain for three days. I have pain on the inner corner of the right eye. I feel the pain whenever I blink. Sometimes I have itchiness.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

According to the photograph, (attachment removed to protect patient identity), it seems that you have inflammation on the eyelid. It is called Hordeolum which might be internal or external. You can use a hot compress with warm water and cotton three times a day along with antibiotic eye drops like Moxifloxacin every three hours and use an antibiotic ointment at night. Use these for five days to one week. The pus can come out within a day or two and do not be alarmed. It occurs due to infection of the glands situated on the eyelid and it occurs due to rubbing of eyes with soiled fingers or external factors. If it is recurrent, then it indicates the presence of refractive error. Follow the above-mentioned treatments. If it does not subside, then you may require surgical drainage.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
