Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My vagina has changed to a white color at the entrance near the hymen. It happened within a day. What should I do to manage this?
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
From the image (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity), the vaginal opening and inner lining appear pink and generally healthy. The white area noticed at the entrance appears more like normal light reflection on moist mucosa or mild superficial irritation rather than a true tissue color change.
A sudden change within one day is usually not linked to a serious disease. Common harmless causes include mild friction, dryness, hormonal changes, or normal vaginal secretions that may appear whitish.
There are no clear signs of infection in the image, such as thick curd-like discharge, severe redness, swelling, ulcers, or lesions. If there is no itching, burning, foul odor, or unusual discharge, this is most likely a normal variation or mild irritation.
Keep the area clean with plain water, avoid harsh soaps or scented products, and reduce friction for a few days. If itching, thick white discharge, pain, or spreading patchy white areas develop, then a medical examination is advised to rule out a fungal infection, such as candidiasis (Candida infection).
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at iCliniq.
Thank you.
