Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 46 years old, male weighing 198 pounds, and 74 inches in height. I have lesions growing around my genital. Four years ago I had protected sex and the woman said she has HPV. I tested HPV negative and I took three shots HPV vaccine. One year later I saw lesions growing around my penis. I treated it at the clinic with liquid nitrogen. It is been four years since now and I still have breakouts. A recent doctor gave me an acidic liquid to treat the lesions myself, but they keep on coming back. The lesions are quite dark in color. I suspect that my wife also has it. I want permanent treatment. What do you recommend?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. Please help me with a few details so that we can come to the bottom of your issue: Have you ever been confirmed to have HPV (human papillomavirus)? Where exactly on your genitalia are these lesions? Are they on the shaft, the penile head, or the scrotum? Do you have any other illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension? Does your partner also have similar lesions around her genitalia or oral cavity? Do these lesions go away without treatment? How many times a year, would you say you have an outbreak of these?

I would also request you to upload some better photos so that I can have a closer look.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. The lesions did not go away without treatment. They never grew on the head of the penis. Almost all of them grew at the under part of the base of the shape and on the testicle area immediately to the shaft. My partner has one lesion. It looks different than mine. It is like a pimple with a whiter head and it is located on the outside of the vulva. Mine itches sometimes. I do not have any illnesses. The first year I had the same six lesions and after treating them with nitrogen I got lesions in different places. This year, I had three times outbreaks.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thank you for getting back with the details. In the second photo (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) that you have uploaded, it does look like HPV (human papillomavirus), but again I am saying this based on a photo. I understand you’ve had multiple recurrences which have been unsuccessfully managed with topical treatment. My recommendation to you would be to meet a dermatologist for laser ablation or cauterization of the lesions. I also suggest you and your wife both visit the clinic together so that a proper evaluation can be done. Should this be HPV, you would have to avoid intimate contact with each other until the lesions have been properly treated. Even after, using a condom would be the ideal choice. I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
