Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am an HSV 1 infected person. I have my report. I do not have a single symptom of herpes, but my partner had a blister on the genital area. The report shows I am HSV 1 positive but HSV 2 negative. I am scared. Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It appears to be herpes simplex virus type 1—no need to worry if it is asymptomatic. I suggest the following:

  1. Avoid sharing personal belongings.
  2. Apply Mupirocin (Polyethylene glycol) cream twice daily for seven days.
  3. Do you have oozing, irritation, or redness present?
  4. Do you have a tingling or burning sensation?
  5. Have your partner taken treatment previously?

Avoid sharing soaps, towels, combs, bed linen, and pillows, as it can be transmitted through infected fomites.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

Is it transmitted by kissing? My friend forcefully kissed me last week. Is he going to be infected? Am I untouchable now?

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Yes, it can be transmitted through kissing. Avoid kissing until reports show negative for HSV 1 (herpes simplex virus). Practice safe sex.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
