Patient's Query
Hi dcotor,
I am a 30-year-old female. I want to have good hydration levels in my body. So, I would like to know what is the recommended daily water intake for adults, and does this vary based on age, weight, and physical activity? How can I identify the signs of dehydration in myself, and what measures should I take to rehydrate myself if I suspect that I am not consuming enough water? How does physical activity affect hydration? When is it most beneficial to drink water during the day?
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
The recommended daily water intake for male adults is 125 ounces per day and 91 ounces per day for adult women. Yes, it varies for age, and weight, but not in physical activities. The signs and symptoms of dehydration are dryness of the mouth, dry skin, sunken eyes, headaches and a delay in skin fall when pinched. To rehydrate yourself, you need to drink plenty of water. Physical activity as a form of exercise causes heat and sweating, which in turn deplete water in your body. The most beneficial time is during lunch hours.
I hope this helps.
Revert in case of queries.
Kind regards.
