Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 19 years old. I have had high blood pressure readings for several years. It has been as high as 170/110 mmHg. Recently, I consulted a doctor, and he said it may be because of my anxiety issues. I have heavy heartbeats, not fast, but hard.
My resting pulse is around 70 bpm, but all the beats feel very forceful. Is this not a symptom of high blood pressure?
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
You should control your blood pressure with medication and lifestyle adjustments. For that, I suggest the following:
Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.
If needed, secondary causes of hypertension, like kidney disease, heart problems, neurological causes, and endocrine disorders like thyroid problems, should be ruled out.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
