What could be the reason for my tiredness and lethargy?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 45 year old female, and my height is 5 feet. I have a blood pressure of 140/75 mmHg. I always feel lethargic and sleepy. Whenever I get up after a long nap, I feel dizzy. Sometimes while working, I experience a sudden unbearable headache. My period had stopped two years ago. Currently, I am taking medication for hypertension. I have been taking Tetan CT 12.5 for more than a year, and I have it once a day. Please advice.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

Tiredness and sleepiness can be seen in the following conditions:

  1. Hypothyroidism.
  2. Diabetes mellitus.
  3. Anemia.
  4. Vitamin D and calcium deficiency.
  5. Multivitamin deficiency.

I suggest you get your blood sugar, TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), vitamin D, and hemoglobin levels checked. I suggest taking Calcium and Vitamin D supplements. You can also try multivitamin pills.
