I found blood, along with my poop, and feeling dizzy and weak. Is it anal or colon cancer?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 20-year-old female and have inconsistent feces consistency (soft or very soft or watery) for about a week and a half. It is like diarrhea. But today, I found bright red blood along with my poop. I have menstruation, and today is my third day, and the flow is not so heavy. I tried to find out where the blood comes from; it comes out along with my poop and not because of my menstruation. I am generally prone to dizziness, but what happened today makes me think of colon or anal cancer. What seems to be the problem? I have only had about three to four bloody stools in my entire life as far as I can remember. I will observe what happens in the next few days. I had this issue several years ago. And last year, I think it was only an anal fissure. Currently, I am taking vitamins with zinc and minerals. I took CBC two months back, and the result was normal.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Bacteria or protozoa cause this kind of diarrhea, and the dizziness you are feeling is because you lost lots of fluids because of the dehydration, feeling weak and dizzy. And blood can be due to ulcers in the stomach. Was there a lot of blood in the stool?

To treat diarrhea, you can try,

1. Tablet Ofloxacin 200 mg twice a day after meal for five days.

2. Tab Pantop (Pantoprazole) 40 mg once a day before a meal for five days.

Drink more fluids, or ORS (Oral rehydration solution) two to three times a day. Let me know if there is anything else.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
