What could be the reason for dry mouth and a reddish, painless, marked area on the inside of the lip?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I noticed this reddish-marked area on the inside of the lip. It does not hurt, but I feel like my mouth is dry, so I went to look and noticed this.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This looks like leukoplakia of the mouth. Do you take any kind of betel nuts or anything constantly irritating your inner mouth?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I looked up the photos you mentioned and do not think they look alike. I took another photo and marked the area I referred to. It is not white. It is pink and red. I do not eat anything or use anything that should irritate the inner mouth.

Can you please see the new photo and see?

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

This red area may indicate oral candida infection or be a normal variant. After one to two months of observation, you must get it checked in person on its shape, size, and symptoms.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
