Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My husband and I have been trying to conceive and I have been trying to track my ovulation and I should have it correct but every time I take my ovulation test it says I am at low fertility even on my peak day. I do not know if I am doing something wrong or what. I just need some guidance. I have a really irregular period and have had complications in the past where I have lost substantial amounts of blood causing me to be hospitalized. The doctors do not have a specific answer for why my body does it but my body will not shed the uterine lining on its own.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

How are you doing?

The single reason for all your problems like poor cycles, no ovulation, excessive bleeding is your weight. Your expected weight is 55 to 57 kg. You must be having PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease). Extra weight is typically in the central part of the body. Typically distribution is above your elbow and knee joint. Mainly around arms, breast, back, abdomen, waist, and thighs. This fat is converted into estrogenic hormones, so also testosterone, the male hormone. Thus altering your hormonal balance, which is needed for normal ovulation.

Symptoms that you may face due to this imbalance are hair fall, excessive hair growth, acne over face, back, arms, oily face, skin pigmentation on the face. Dark pigmentation over the back of the neck, the undersurface of breast and inner thighs. Skin tags over the neck. So when you have no ovulation on time, pregnancy will not occur and periods are also altered. When you have periods after a long gap, it will be heavy, painful. So, the single solution is to lose weight. Have a healthy diet, no junk foods. Lots of raw fruits and vegetables. Aerobics, yoga, exercises specific to the area where fat is more. Reduce weight gradually at 2 to 3 kg per month. You will definitely have regular periods and pregnancy. Do not worry. All the best.
