Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have frequent motions (today it was three times from 8 AM to 2 PM). Motion is semi-solid and lightly smelly. I have had a mild cough for two weeks back. Took antibiotics and cough syrup. A cough has reduced now. Loose motion started a week back. Frequently and it was liquid format and smelly. I had vomit once on that day.

Consulted GP and the doctor gave Oflox 200 mg with gastric tablets also. Had same symptoms the next day. Two days later, had mild stomach pain and consulted the same GP. The doctor gave stomach pain tablets and pain reduced.

Everything was fine since today morning but now loose motion has started and also a little bit smelly. There is no blood in motion and there is no stomach pain right now. Also, I checked my weight it is reduced by 4.4 lbs.

Questions:

  1. Why has loose motion has reoccurred?
  2. Is this related to stomach or colon cancer? Since my weight has reduced I am worried that this might be related to cancer. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You are unnecessarily worried about stomach cancer. These are not symptoms of stomach cancer. It looks you have irritable bowel syndrome-diarrhea variant. I would recommend you:

  1. To take capsule Pantoprazole and Domperidone once daily for five days.
  2. Tablet Normaxin (Clidinium, Dicyclomine, etc.) twice daily for five days.
  3. Capsule Bifilac HP (Lactobacillus) once daily for five days.

Let me know the results after five days. Avoid spices in food. Avoid pain-killers. Avoid milk in the diet. Since these are prescription medicines, please seek your doctor's advice to obtain the prescription.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the information. Few more questions:

  1. Is weight loss due to the continuous motion I had?
  2. Please specify when to take each of the above tablets, before food or after food?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Weight loss can happen in IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) also. The first capsule is to be taken 15 minutes before breakfast and remaining two (second and third one) after meals.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
