Hello doctor,

My heart rate appears to be around 50 to 65 beats per minute when I am about to fall asleep or doze off. Is it normal? I am not very active. I do not have any heart conditions, and I am not on any medications. I am also not overweight. My anxiety has worsened because of this condition.

Do you have any symptoms such as palpitation or syncope? As long as you do not have any symptoms, do not worry.

Some people just live normally with low heart rates without any problems. Slow heart rate could be of two main types, sinus bradycardia or heart block. ECG (electrocardiogram) is required to exclude any serious cause.
