Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My husband never initiates sex and we only had sex five to six times in nine months. It has been nine months since our marriage. He is never interested in sex. He is a sugar patient as well and he has high triglycerides. He is taking Rosubest F and Gluconorm 500 mg from last year. What should I do? Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern. Low libido could be due to any of the following reasons.

  1. Infections: This can be due to urine infection. Please get urine routine and ultrasound of pelvis.
  2. Diabetes and hypertension: Make sure blood pressure and blood sugar are under control. If already on medication, share the medication name.
  3. Hormonal disturbances: It can be due to low testosterone, low levels of thyroid, and high levels of prolactin. Check for TFT (thyroid function tests), prolactin, and testosterone.
  4. Obesity: Plan for regular exercise and yoga.
  5. High cholesterol: Check for lipid profile and plan for regular exercise.
  6. Chronic disease or on any chronic medication.
  7. Anxiety can also cause libido issues.

I suggest you to get the following tests.

  1. USG pelvis to rule out pelvis infection.
  2. Thyroid function tests such as free T3, T4, and TSH.
  3. Lipid profile to know cholesterol level.
  4. Blood pressure.
  5. RBS (random blood sugar).

Kindly share more details regarding the above reason, so we can work on the cause and treatment. I suggest taking Tab Mildfil 5 mg (Tadalafil) twice a day and it is a temporary solution.

Thank you.
