Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am currently undergoing IVF and using Lubion injections. Today, when I administered the injection, I noticed that some blood and a small amount of medication came back out. I am concerned if this is okay and whether it will affect absorption. Should I repeat the injection, or is it safe to continue? Please clarify.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your inquiry.

You do not need to be concerned, and there is no requirement to repeat the Lubion injection, which is a form of progesterone. From the image you have provided (images removed to protect the patient's identity), it appears to be just a small drop of blood. To prevent this in the future, you can apply pressure or gently press the injection site with a cotton ball for at least a minute after administering the injection.

There is no need to worry; you can proceed with your next scheduled injection as usual.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

I have noticed that when I inject the medication, there is always a small amount left in the syringe after I have administered the injection. Is this normal, or should I be concerned about not delivering the full dose? Please clarify.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The medication you administer will be absorbed as much as it has reached the intradermal tissue. Keep in mind that not 100% of the drug is absorbed into the body; the extent of absorption depends on the drug's bioavailability and the route of administration. In your case, the small amount that might not have been fully administered due to the residual space in the needle is unlikely to significantly affect the bioavailability of the drug. Please do not worry. Prefilled syringes are designed to minimize these issues, ensuring that the administered dosage is accurate and consistent.

I hope this addresses your concerns. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you.

Best regards.
