Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had pain in the back of my neck, and I have had a lump on my head under the hair for three to four months. Sometimes I forget the things to do. For example, I go to take milk from the fridge, but I take butter and come. Then I realize I have taken butter instead of milk. I have also undergone thyroid surgery 14 years back. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

A lump under the skin is commonly seen due to infection. Apart from that, cystic growth due to sebaceous gland blockage can also cause this, or it can be due to stress. As you mentioned you are getting forgetful, I would like to know your age. Does anyone in your family have a similar history of forgetfulness?

But for the growth you mentioned, it needs to be examined in person by a physician. Depending on the nature of the swelling, a CT (computerized tomography) scan or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) of the head would be suggested by the doctor. In addition, he might suggest some medications to counter the swelling. After the scanning results, it will be managed accordingly.

I hope you get well soon. Feel free to contact me for any further queries in the future.
