Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I happen to see swollen lymph nodes at the back of the neck in my 1 year old baby. I have consulted a doctor last month. He gave antibiotics for five days. But still, I see the swelling (from last month 20th, he has boils like prickly heat on the head, forehead, and hands which heals but comes back. I am very worried. Please suggest something.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Prominent lymph nodes are common in children below the age of 6 years. As long as the child is not chronically ill, is gaining weight, feeding well, and not having any other problems, you need not worry. Also, as regards the lymph node, you should keep a check if the size is increasing or decreasing and if there is any sinus (hole) formation on the skin overlying the lymph node and report to the doctor.
