Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I used to masturbate till last year. For the past 10 to 15 days, my penis is getting soft and I am not having any sex drive. I used to smoke weed. I feel stressed all the time. Currently, I am taking Ashwagandha. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

According to your complaints, you may be suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED). The reasons for erectile dysfunction (ED) could be as follows:

  1. Stress due to work, family, or night duties. For this, I suggest you do regular exercise and yoga.

  2. Depression.

  3. Varicocele (a condition characterized by the enlargement of veins within the scrotum). I suggest you do an ultrasound scrotum, as it can help diagnose the condition.

  4. Fear of failure - Experiencing one episode of ED might lead to the concern that it could become a persistent issue.

  5. Low self-esteem (chronic masturbation).

  6. Homosexuality – not attracted to the same sex.

  7. Religious constraints.

  8. Smoking and alcohol.

  9. Long-term illnesses like cardiac disease, thyroid disease, kidney disease, or any other disease that involves taking long-term medication.

  10. Simple vitamin deficiency – For this, I suggest you take multivitamin supplements like a tablet of Zincovit or a tablet of calcium and vitamin D3 (Shelcal). Consult your doctor and take the medicines.

  11. Negative attitude towards your partner.

  12. Hormonal issues like thyroid problems, low testosterone, or increased prolactin.

  13. Long-term drug usage.

  14. Diabetes and hypertension.

I suggest you do the following investigations:

  1. Doppler penis.

  2. USG (ultrasonogram) pelvis and scrotum.

  3. Blood pressure.

  4. RBS (random blood sugar).

  5. Free T3 (triiodothyronine), T4 (thyroxine), testosterone, and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone).

Kindly share more details regarding the above reasons, and we can work on the diagnosis and treatment. You need to do regular exercise and follow a proper diet. I suggest the following exercises:

  1. Basic exercises like Kegels (explain), squats (explain), yoga, running, or fast walking for five minutes.

  2. Missionary sex positions like planks, push-ups, mountain climbers, and glute bridges.

  3. Standing sex positions like bicep curls, pull-ups, and jump squats.

  4. Doggy style like jump squats or walking lunges.

  5. Cowgirl or the girl on top moves such as glute bridges and leg raises.

I suggest you take foods like strawberries, apples, avocados, sweet potatoes, sesame seeds, almonds, garlic, and a little chocolate. For a temporary solution, I suggest you take the tablet Tadalafil (Mildfil) 5 mg twice a day.

I am looking forward to helping you further with your medical needs.

Thank you.
