Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 23-year-old male. I feel aroused or have a strong urge to masturbate whenever I overeat or have to defecate after overeating. However, this feeling goes away immediately after defecation, as if physical pressure was lifted. I am worried it is a prostate problem, and I have noticed it for the past two to three years. My father has an enlarged prostate, and my grandfather had prostate cancer. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Erection and sexual desire are normal, and it differs from person to person. Some people have more desire than others, and that is also normal. The prostate gland enlarges in all people of age 50 years and above. Follow-up with uroflowmetry and PSA (prostate-specific antigen) are important afterward. It is still early for you to have prostate enlargement yet. You said that your grandfather got prostate cancer; the family history is considered when you have two relatives who got prostate cancer before 40. At your age, prostate inflammation is more common, and that is related to sexual contact.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the reply. I am not sexually active. Is it common to get aroused after eating too much? Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. No, that is not a problem or a disease. I can say that is a habit. There is no medical treatment suggested. What is required is changing habits like small frequent meals and exercises that will take care of the issue.

I hope you understand.

Thank you.
