Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a question about masturbation. After five to seven days of masturbating, I feel guilty, my heartbeat increases, and I experience intense fear. What is the cause of these feelings, and is there any problem? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern. Firstly, I would like to inform you that masturbation is normal, many male and female does that (out of a hundred male ninety-five male) it is just another way of having sex without a partner. It is a good practice with following benefits:

  1. It helps to relieve stress.
  2. Boosts mood.
  3. Improves sleep.
  4. Helps to prevent depression and anxiety.
  5. Relaxes the mind of a person.
  6. Relieves pain and muscle cramps.
  7. Relieves the sexual tension.
  8. Improves the confidence of a person.
  9. Allows one to have better sex.
  10. Helps the person understand his needs and desires.
  11. In females masturbation increases vaginal blood flow.

In addition, masturbation will not harm your genitals, having it two to three times a week is not an issue, more than that can cause tiredness, loss of concentration, sense of infertility. If you want to control it, I suggest you follow the below mentioned instruction to reduce masturbation:

  1. Sex education.
  2. Physical exercises.
  3. Sleep adjustment.
  4. Quality of sleep.
  5. Healthy and balanced diet.
  6. Programming for leisure time.
  7. Development of spirituality.
  8. Taking a cold bath.

For tiredness or decrease in strength you can take the following medications:

  1. A capsule containing Ascorbic Acid, Calcium Pantothenate, Cholecalciferol, Cyanocobalamin, Folic Acid, L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Lysine, L-Methionine, L-Phenylalamine, L-Threonine, L-Tryptophan, L-Valine, Niacinamide, Pyridoxine, Riboflavin, Thiamine, Tocopherol, and vitamin A once a morning.
  2. A tablet containing Calcium and vitamin D3 once a night after food for thirty days.

I also suggest you check for heart rate if it goes above 140 and check for ECG (electrocardiogram). I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
