Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 30 year old male. I got rashes on my glans penis after sex with my wife. I have consulted a doctor and he suggested to use Zovirax 200 mg four times a day for one week, thinking that it is herpes. But, I think it is not. I have used it but no improvement at all. The rashes getting disappeared within a week when there is a gap of intercourse. After sex, I am developing rashes again and as there is a gap of one week, the rashes getting disappeared. This has started only one month back. No pain, no itching, the rashes look red. I think it may be fungal or bacterial infection. What medicine shall I use? When I used Candid dusting powder, the rashes are getting cured.
Kindly suggest.
Thank you.

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Before using Zovirax 200, the lesions were less severe than now. I do not know why? And I am sorry to say that I did not take any photo before taking the tablet.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You are not suffering from herpes that is why Zovirax did not work, because it is for herpes genitalis. You are suffering from candidal balanitis. You and your wife both needed to be treated for candidal infection. Please follow the following to get cured:
Thank you.
