This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My 2 months old baby is on Dexolac Premium from 1 month. The growth is good, but he is constipated. Can I switch to Nan Pro or kindly advise any other good brand.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concerns.

If child is constipated on Dexolac premium, then you can switch to Nan Pro 1, lactogen 1 or similar advance. All are equally good. Nan Pro 1 is more preferred.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor.

I have started using Nan Pro 1 for my baby from last 2 days, but there is a problem. My baby stool is greenish black in color from the day I started giving formula milk that is Dexolac Premium. I thought it might be because of formula milk, but after shifting to Nan Pro 1 also his stool is greenish black. I am so worried. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Greenish black stools are normal in babies. Transit time for food in babies is less so the bile which is produced by gallbladder is not able to act fully. That is why the stools are greenish in color. This bile is responsible for brown color of stools. If you have any doubts, then do a stool routine microscopy and get back with the reports.
