Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
A heavy ladder fell on my head. Then, dizziness occurred twice and I have some constant chest pain in the middle of the chest. Also, I am feeling chest heaviness. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com. Falling heavy objects on the head can result in a range of conditions, from simple headache and hematomas to internal brain structure injuries. It is important to examine yourself for any depressions on the scalp. If you experience symptoms such as vomiting, visual disturbances, loss of consciousness, or nasal/ear bleeding, it is advisable to undergo a plain CT scan of the head to rule out any potential injury. However, if none of these symptoms are present, analgesics can be used for pain relief. To assess the chest pain, it is important to determine if the object impacted the head or the chest region. Gentle examination of the front chest, pressing on each rib to check for point tenderness, and taking deep breaths to observe any worsening pain during inspiration can help in the evaluation. If there is tenderness and aggravation of pain during inspiration, a chest x-ray PA (posteroanterior view) should be obtained. If not, analgesics such as gels or sprays can be continued. It is essential to consult your specialist doctor, discuss the recommended treatment options, and obtain their consent before initiating any medications. The suggested medications include Tablet Dolonex (Piroxicam), one tablet in the morning and at night, Tablet Myospaz (Chlorzoxazone), one tablet in the morning and at night, Tablet Chymoral Forte (trypsin-chymotrypsin combination), one tablet twice a day in the morning and at night, and Tablet Pan 40 (Pantoprazole), once in the morning.
