Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 24 year old male. I work as a software engineer. Over few days, suddenly my arm muscles are shaking for a few seconds and it will be normal after sometime. Also sometimes, I am not feeling well. Are these the symptoms of diabetes or any other health issues?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

First of all thanks for the questions and for showing trust on us. Such sudden shaking for few seconds could be termed as tremors. Such tremors are in most of the cases normal and self-limiting. They do not indicate any major health issue. But, sometimes if such tremors are recurrent or become severe with time then should be ruled out for essential tremors. Hyperthyroidism, withdrawal symptoms from alcohol, multiple sclerosis (MS), dystonia and sleep deprivation also can cause such tremors and shakings. Follow these self-care tips: Take proper sleep for seven hours daily as sleep deprivation can cause such manifestations. Avoid caffeine and smoking. Medicines for asthma and antidepressants also can cause such symptoms. If you are on any medicine then consult with your GP (general practitioner). Avoid very hot or cold temperature changes. Get blood glucose profile done. If self-care tips does not work or recurrent episodes are seen then get a medical checkup done with your PCP (primary care physician). I would also suggest you to follow a healthy lifestyle which comprises of regular exercise and healthy diet with proper sleep, as it is necessary for a healthy future life. Thank you and take care.
