Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past ten years, I have been struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, and OCD. I consulted a doctor once but could not continue the treatment because of the cost. I have had difficulty finding and keeping a job. My life is chaotic and unhappy. My family is the worst part of my life. I despise them, especially my father, who abused me physically and emotionally. He slapped me on my face six years ago, and I still feel the pain and humiliation. I wish I could escape from him and this house, but I have no options. If I leave, I will end up in a worse situation. I need some advice on what to do. Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query, and understand your concern.

I understand that you are going through a difficult time in your life, but I want to assure you that this phase will pass. It may seem hard to move on, but it is possible. You need to take care of your mental health and seek treatment for your depression and OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). You should consult a psychiatrist in person who can evaluate your condition and prescribe the appropriate medication. I suggest you some of these tips to help you cope:

  1. Practice relaxation techniques every day, such as breathing exercises that follow a pattern. These can help you calm your mind and body.

  2. Exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. These can boost your mood and energy levels.

  3. Keep a stress diary and write down your thoughts uncensored every day. Do not read them again. This can help you release your emotions and clear your mind.

  4. Consider psychotherapy as an option. This can help you explore the root causes of your problems and find solutions.

  5. Stay positive and always remember that every problem has a solution.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Thank you.
