Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been having creamy to yellow discharge that has a strong smell. It started after a miscarriage three months ago. I have been taking Metronidazole and Fluconazole, but the discharge and smell are consistent. My periods are regular, but I have colored urine. What is the problem?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query, and I understand your concern.

Is this discharge continuous for the past three months or intermittent? Have you done a Pap smear? Was abortion medical or surgical? It is common to get an infection after an abortion, to treat such infections, and you should take a proper antibiotic course. Before prescribing anything, I must know those things, and to avoid such infections, keep that area clean and dry, change undergarments twice a day, and wash your genital with soft cleansers like V wash (intimate hygiene wash). Colored urine could be because of dehydration. Keep yourself hydrated. Take plenty of water, at least three liters per day.

I hope this helps.

Regards.
