Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My son pressed a herbal mosquito repellant spray close to his eyes. I am not sure whether the liquid directly sprayed into his eyes. We immediately washed his eyes and nose as he complained about a burning sensation. But soon it was over, he can see things and recognize colors. Will this have any impact in the long run?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Give a thorough wash with clean water for at least half an hour. If there is any burning or redness or pain or excessive watering, please do visit an ophthalmologist immediately.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

We washed his eyes for a few minutes only, but by the time he stopped complaining about the irritation. This happened yesterday and till now he does not have any itching, burning sensation or redness. Shall we take it as a positive sign and leave it there?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Still, you should take him to an eye doctor once to avoid any consequences. Present vision status is to be evaluated and any corneal opacity has to be evaluated under slit lamp examination.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
