Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a small bubble-like thing inside my cheeks. Maybe a mucous cyst. It has been three weeks now. It pops out, and again the fluid gets fill it in. I have attached an image of it. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Yes, it looks like a mucocele, which is a benign cyst filled with mucus. There are blocked salivary ducts, which lead to mucocele. It needs to be removed by cautery or surgery.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Is there anything dangerous? Is this a symptom of oral cancer? Can I do some home remedies to cure this? I am studying abroad, and dental treatment is quite expensive here.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Nothing to worry about. It is completely harmless. It is not related to oral cancer in any way. Sometimes it subsides on its own when it gets ruptured. Repeated trauma with teeth can lead to refilling, so avoid trauma. If it keeps recurring or bothersome, then surgery is required. You can leave it for now and observe for a couple of weeks if it is not causing many problems.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
