Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 47-year-old male, I have been suffering from multiple sclerosis for several years. My physician recently suggested Tysabri to manage my condition. I wanted to know if this drug is effective in managing sclerosis. Are there any long-term side effects? or is there any other better treatment option to treat multiple sclerosis? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. I read your query and understood your concern.

Actually, Tysabri is a new drug on the market and it works the same as other monoclonal antibodies like Natalizumab. Monoclonal antibodies help our system to boost and that is how we can prevent diseases like multiple sclerosis.

So if you have no contraindications, then you can use this medication. If you have contraindications like liver or kidney infection, then I would suggest you not use this medicine. It can cause infection in the brain as well. So use it with proper guidance.

I hope my advice will be helpful. Feel free to reach out if you have any further queries.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
