Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I noticed twitching in my left lower eyelid. It twitched for one week, and then I noticed my left calf was also twitching. Finally, all of a sudden, my whole body was twitching. I have had this issue for more than a month. I am worried about it.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern, and I would explain that there is nothing to worry about as long as there is no muscle wasting or weakness.
In my opinion, your symptoms could be suggestive of benign fasciculation syndrome, probably caused by stress and insomnia. I recommend checking thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid gland dysfunction, vitamin D, and vitamin B12 plasma levels for possible deficiency and blood electrolytes. It is also important to avoid caffeine intake and stay well hydrated. Kindly take magnesium supplements.
I hope you will find this information helpful.
Kind regards.
